Remember that I shared with you here that I really want to be an entrepreneur. Well, I guess dreams do come true. The key word really is DREAM, BELIEVE and ACHIEVE. I may have a some short of mishap this past few months, but it cannot be denied that there are positive things that have happened to me, one of which is the "Burloloy" the online accessories shop that we have opened. Of course, this online shop will not be possible without the help of my partners in crime, my creative and talented friends Emyruth and Ann (free promotion uy!)  

It's funny and at the same time amazing because this was an overnight project. We have a night of "me-session" then presto! we decided to execute the plan right after... when I said right after as in "agad-agad". It only goes to show that if you really want something, and being with the right people, everything will be possible. So anyway, the conception of the "Burloloy" was rooted  from the principle that everyone should aspire beauty and that every girl deserves to feel good and to always feel beautiful. I am a fashion lover and I know the feeling of being empowered whenever I wore accessories to suit up my simple get up. Our shop knows no class of people, as long as you are a woman, a girl, a daughter, a mother or an effeminate we have products that will surely suit you. We named our shop 'Burloloy' to make it accessible to everyone because we believe that every girl deserves a piece of adornment to be empowered. 

So since we believe that everyone has its own taste of accessories we have come up with five (5) different collection to match the varying taste of every girls in town! New life, new school. I was so afraid with the changes in my life. I felt I was Sarah Crewe at that time, stripped off of privileges with no friends and no anything just my new life. My dad just past away, our business got bankrupt and we just loss our house. I nervously entered the door of my new classroom, I look at my new classmates and in return they looked at me in a strange way. I was the only transferee in the class. I don't know how to act, will I smile? will I introduce myself to them? I opted to be quiet and sat in the backrow seat.

Our teacher left, still nobody dared to talk to me. Until this girl with a 'kinky' hair turned around and gave me a curious and friendly smile. I smiled in return, and as I remember she asked me about the time. That is the start of a friendship honed by time and created by destiny and that was 14 years ago.

Today, the girl who smiled to me will have another year to pile. My life will never be the same without this girl, my best friend. Some say, it's hard to find a friend that will really stick around as you age, but for me, it was effortless. I guess we are really destined to be friends forever. Despite the small fights, to the chips delight and all, to the mishaps like the bombings and the budol-budol, to our first out of town travel, to her first heartbreak and to my depression, we overcame it together.

I was blessed to have a friend to grow with together, a person who despite all the bad things, will be readily available to listen and be crazy for you. She is a friend who will be rushing to your house, even at the wee hours, to help a friend who was rushed to a psychologist that turned out to be a prank. She is the only person, aside from my other BFF (Mary Ann don't kill me okay!) that can tolerate my craziness! (But you have a higher tolerance than Mary Ann! :p) She is none other than my super-uber-duper friend Juijui! Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart!

Happy happy birthday to my dearest friend Juijui! Stay crazy too and congrats to your blog! So proud of you! Wish you all the best, and more Wednesday este Birthdays to come! :p I will always be here for you, through 'thick and thin' literally or figuratively! Aja to our future dude! :) 

Epilogue

I am Sarah Crewe no more, from the moment that the girl named Mary Joy Demausa ask for the time and for my name, our story was like the adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn, we might have some differences but we are similar at the same time. More adventures to come my friend!

I can't believe that I am still up to it. Within three weeks, I was able to read three materials. This is on top of my busy schedule in lawschool, my work and of course my responsibility to my family. In reading, I was able to give time to myself. Well, I think destiny agrees with me for I was able to discover lot of book sales and great materials plus gifts from my friends. . :) In short, I was book-e-fied, once again! :)  

Mang Chito of Cubao Expo

Thanks Emy for this! The stall of Mang Chito is located in Cubao Expo, it's beside the Penpen's restaurant if you happen to drop by. Mang Chito is selling a lot of books, take note not just ordinary books, but rare find books for a very cheap price. I happened to buy three books there, namely, "The Greatest Salesman of the World Part II" by Og Mandino for only 100php, "The World's Greatest Unsolved Crimes" again for only 100php and the 2nd edition of the "To Kill a Mocking Bird" by Harper Lee for only 130. The first two (2) books were brand new and the last one was second hand. I bought this just last month, and I was reading the first two (2) books while Philippines was under the rage of "Habagat" and  allegorically I was suffering from internal storm too. I also happened to finish the last book last week. (Whew! Can't believe it) I hope I will not be lazy writing a review of it! :p 

Corner of Recto and Morayta 

While wandering in Recto (I was forced since I am buying book for my sister in Recto), I saw books in "Bangketa" literally, since they were just scattered in the street, with a "tela" protecting them from the dirt. While waiting for the book that I bought for my sister, I browsed the scattered books, and then waaaa they were all classics! I was tempted to buy a lot of books, but I don't have enough money on hand (plus the fact that I'm ought to pay my sister's book). I was haggling very hard, but Kuya is so persistent. But anyway, its still cheap. Their books ranges from 100-300. I bought one (1) book, which is one-hundred years of solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez for only 180php. I might go back there! They also have Philippine classics such as books written by Nick Joaquin. 

National Bookstore's 20% off 

Then during my me-time. (I have a lot of me-time, to the point of not going to school!) I was browsing books in Powerbooks alone! :p I saw that some of their books were on sale, so I was browsing for books to buy (thanks for their free reading section :p). Since I have finished (well except for the unsolved crimes, which is not fiction) the books that I have earlier bought, I am determined to buy another book. Since "tipidity is the best policy" was my mantra, I did not buy the book in the Power books (sorry Powerbooks, I'll just buy in your store next time) but instead in National Bookstore since they were on 20% off sale on all books! (Unfortunately, the promo ended last Septermber 2) Yes!!! I was in panic-buying therefore, the result, I bought books in excess! Hahaha I bought classics! 

Gifts from Friends

Waaaa! Thank you LCP Family, especially to Anne and Emy, whom I know are the brain child of giving me the Paulo Coelho planner for 2013!! *happiness* Well, I must admit that I was really surprised with this gift!

I also want to thank my BFF Jui for "gifting" me another book from Rhonda Byrne "the Magic", wait is that "the Power" my friend? LOL Thank you so much again for all, from the bottom of my heart! :) 

Secret bookstore 

Finally, yesterday, I was able to discover another book sale!! The place is secret yet, (I will ask permission first from Jui, if I am allowed to divulge the place of the bookstore, all I can say is, it is somewhere in Bulacan :p) but they really have good books!!! When I said good books, the really bestseller ones. My friend were able to buy "The Hobbit" and Crime and Punishment and I on the other hand bought, "Tuesdays with Morrie" (Hardbound), "The Good Earth" and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime" for only 290php!!!!  Take note, this bookstore does not know the value of the books they are selling, I think they are basing the price according to its appearance and the volume and not on how they were sold in the market so I really love it there. I might go back there soon! :p 

So there, I can say that these last two months (August and September), I was totally book-e-fied! Well, a good way to escape from reality. :p

I am dreading from my situation right now. Past few months have been so ungrateful to me that I didn't know what I did to deserve this. Emptiness and sadness will be shy to be with me right now as I am becoming a person with nothing but a hollow heart waiting to be part of the soil where I came from. But, I know that is not how life should be walked upon. The journey is still long enough for me to give up, I must gather all my strength and endurance to take the long walk and not the shorter path. It would be unjustifiable for me to accumulate the talent and somehow wisdom that the great Lord has bestowed upon if I will just cross the forsaken path. Many have been tested, but only few were chosen, this is the test of faith that every man must endure; He walked through it, clenched it, savored it and tasted it with such compassion and hope. I must do the same, for it is only the way for me to bear it.

I believe, this is not the end of misfortunes, many is yet to come, I might collapse and stumble and worst, I may faint, for I am only a frivolous being with such a fickle heart. But hope should not escape me, for it is the tiny light that is helping me crawl with tiny little steps to seize the day that I shall come forward and be back to the light. For the meantime, I shall be prepared. I may be accustomed to the darkness today, but that shall not make me afraid, for as long as I know the feeling of beauty as I have seen it before, darkness will never be forever. As long as I am seeing such tiny light, I must not wave the white flag of defeat, I must know the value of sacrifice He endured, just to save His children out of this misery.

However, I am seeking You right now to let me see the tiny light, it is now a very small spot to me, that I don't even recognize. Give me an assurance that such will not wane, that such will never be out of my sight. Please be at my side and let Your light shine upon me and to my roots that has somehow frustrated me.
